ABINGDON, VA (Friday, June 3 2011) –

The Virginia Tobacco Indemnification and Community Revitalization Commission, the Washington County Board of Supervisors and the Town Council of Abingdon, Virginia announced today that Food City will locate their new corporate headquarters at the soon-to-be vacated Johnston Memorial Hospital site in Abingdon, VA.  Food City currently operates 106 retail supermarkets in Kentucky, Virginia and Tennessee and employs over 13,000 associates company-wide.

Food City Promotes State Trooper Safety and Move Over America

Monuments Planned for Kingsport Press Site

Earlier today, Food City officials announced plans to erect several monuments at the Kingsport Press Site of their new Kingsport location.  The first of which is a replica of hte original water tower.  Like it's predecessor, the new tower will stand one hundred twenty three feet tall.  Bearing the Kingsport Press logo, the tower will be located in the shopping center's courtyard.
