Food City and Quillen ETSU Physicians Introduce New Doc/Chef Program

JOHNSON CITY, TN (Thursday, May 10, 2012) – Earlier today, Food City and Quillen ETSU Physicians introduced their new Doc/Chef Program.  The informative new program features a monthly interactive discussion conducted by a Quillen ETSU Physician, followed by a coordinating cooking demonstration given by one of Food City’s trained chefs.  The presentations will feature a different health related topic each month.

Food City Recognizes District Winners for Outstanding Volunteerism

ABINGDON, VA (Wednesday, May 9, 2012) – During a June 2002 White House meeting, President Bush met with corporate leaders from organizations across the nation and key White House staff members to discuss objectives for his Businesses Strengthening America volunteerism campaign.  Steve Smith, Food City president and chief executive officer was among the select group.  Following the White House session, Smith administered the creation of Food City’s annual Claude P. Varney Volunteer Recognition Program, to reward outstanding volunteerism among their associates.

New Bristol Food City Set to Open

ABINGDON, VA (Friday, February 17, 2012) – Shelves are stocked in preparation for the February 22nd opening of the new Food City on Euclid Avenue in Bristol, VA.  Customers will get their first look at the 58,000+ square foot unit when the doors open Wednesday morning.  The store will replace the existing location and is the largest ever constructed by the company.  Food City currently operates five Bristol locations.
