ABINGDON, VA (Monday, October 14, 2013) – Starting in January 2014, qualifying Food City customers who carry Medicare Advantage plans will receive their generic prescription drugs at no charge. A new partnership between Food City Pharmacies and CrestPoint Health will allow members of CrestPoint Health’s new CLASSIC and ELITE Medicare Advantage plans to receive their preferred generic prescription medications with a $0 copay at Food City Pharmacies.
“We are excited to be one of the preferred pharmacies of CrestPoint Health this year,” said Mickey Blazer, director of pharmacy operations for Food City. “We are local companies working together to help local people here in our community.”
“No other insurance company in the region offers a Medicare Advantage plan where members pay $0 premium for the plan, $0 copay for their prescriptions and $0 copay for visits to their primary care provider”, according to Sharon Dicorato, VP of sales and marketing for Johnson City-based CrestPoint Health.
“We’re happy to be able to partner with another local company like Food City who also cares about making health care more available and affordable to people on Medicare in Northeast Tennessee,” she said.
The $0 prescription copay benefits offered by CrestPoint Health insurance company’s new CLASSIC and ELITE Medicare Advantage plans are available to anyone entitled to Medicare Part A who is enrolled in Medicare Part B and living in the Northeast Tennessee counties of Carter, Greene, Hancock, Hawkins, Johnson, Sullivan, Unicoi and Washington.
From October to December, CrestPoint Health agents will be available in Food City locations in Johnson City, Gray, Elizabethton, Piney Flats and Jonesborough to provide more information about the company’s CLASSIC and ELITE Medicare Advantage plans. During these months, Medicare beneficiaries may enroll in these plans or switch from a current plan. No appointment is necessary to visit with representatives.
For the specific dates and times CrestPoint Health representatives will be at Food City locations, check with your local store or visit the Events Calendar on the CrestPoint Health website at yourcrestpointhealth.com. Or, call CrestPoint Health at 1-866-828-3307.
“Especially in these tough economic times, I can’t think of a better way to help people in our region than to make part of their health care not only affordable, but free,” said Steven C. Smith, Food City president and CEO. “Food City is proud to be able to give back to the folks who’ve helped to grow our business over the years. This is just one way we can say ‘thanks’.”
