  Race week continued as thousands of race fans came out to Meadowview Convention Center in Kingsport, TN on March 13, 2008 to see Dale Jarrett honored on stage and enjoy an evening of race related fun.
• 2008 Food City Family Race Night - Knoxville
  The Spring race week began with Food City Family Race Night at the Knoxville Expo Center on March 12, 2008. Great food and fun, along with racing celebrities, cars, and collectibles made for an exciting evening.
• Weiner Dog Race
  The Knoxville Ice Bears Arena went to the dogs Saturday, Feb. 2 as the Food City Paws & Claws Pet Club sponsored the Weiner Dog Race. 60 dogs participated in 2 heats to decide which six dogs would make it to the finals. • Big Orange Pep Rallies at Food City
  On Friday afternoons before a University of Tennessee home game, Volunteer Football fans rally together at various Knoxville area Food City stores for free food, ticket giveaways, prizes and more while the UT Dance Team and Cheerleaders lead the spirit charge toward Rocky Top!
• 2008 Miss Food City Pageant
  See photos from October 13, 2007 when 17 beautiful young ladies from across the region competed for the title of Miss Food City 2008 at the Paramount Center for the Arts in downtown Bristol, TN/VA and 23 year-old Jennifer Whittington of Pounding Mill, VA won the crown.
• Food City/Dixie Stampede Whoa-Deo
  The Food City Kid's Club hosted the first annual "Whoa-Deo" at the Dixie Stampede in Pigeon Forge, TN on September 15, 2007. Kids from 3-12 years of age competed with stick horses in the arena for fun and prizes.
• Food City Family Race Night - 20th Anniversary
  The August 2007 edition of Food City Family Race Night's 20th Anniversary plays out at the NASCAR Speedpark in Sevierville, TN and on State Street in downtown Bristol, TN/VA. The blazing heat didn't stop the record number of fans from coming out to see Rick Hendrick honored, along with drivers, cars, food, games and ending with the transporter parade to the track!
• Food City/WTFM Easter Egg Hunt
  The annual Easter Egg Hunt was held at the Veterans Memorial Park in Kingsport, TN and brought out hundreds of kids to gather up eggs, eat free hot dogs & chips, play games and hope to win one of the bicycles or other fun prizes.

  Fifty years to the day when Jack Smith opened his first store in Grundy, VA, a new Food City opened next door in Vansant, VA to commemorate the historic occasion. See the history unfold...
