Food City Partners with WCYB to Host Collection Drive for West Virginia Flood Relief
Abingdon, VA. - Thursday, Jun 30, 2016.

Food City announced today that the retail supermarket chain is partnering with WCYB News 5 to host a collection drive to benefit West Virginia flood relief efforts.

Area Food City locations are participating in the drive, which will begin June 30th and continue through July 5th.  Specially marked collection containers will be available inside the store to accept the donation of non-perishable food items and paper products.  Consumers wishing to assist with flood relief efforts are encouraged to drop their non-perishable food items and paper products off at participating Food City locations throughout the drive. 

Participating Food City locations include – in Virginia:  Vansant, Big Stone Gap, Coeburn, Pennington Gap, St. Paul, Wise, Bristol, Abingdon, Richlands, Weber City, Marion, Chilhowie, Bluefield, Damascus and Lebanon and in Tennessee:  Church Hill, Kingsport, Rogersville, Johnson City, Greeneville, Bristol, Elizabethton, Jonesborough, Blountville, Gray and Piney Flats. Items needed include granola bars, breakfast bars, cookies, crackers, dry pasta boxes, paper towels, napkins and toilet tissue.

100% of the items collected will be shopped to the American Red Cross of West Virginia warehouse distribution center to assist with flood relief efforts.
