HOW TO ENTER: Sweepstakes entries will be accepted two ways: electronic and mail-in. Electronic entries: Apply for a Food City ValuCard by filling out an official application form available at participating Food City Stores. No purchase is necessary to obtain the card. After registration is complete, each time you use your Food City ValuCard to purchase FIVE OR MORE Food City, Food Club, Pet Club/Paws/Flock’s, Top Crest, Top Care, Valu Time, Tippy Toes, @ease, Harvest Club, Nostimo, Terry’s, Kern’s, Kay’s, Lay’s, Moore’s, Misty Mountain, Buckley Farms, Sweet P’s, Over the Top, Full Circle, Simply Done, Culinary Tours, Wide Awake, B-Leve, Pure Harmony, Evolve, Cow Belle, Bistro Deli Classics, Domestix, Academix, Electrix, Aura and CharKing, brand products during the same shopping visit between April 18, 2018 and 11:59 p.m. (ET) June 13, 2018 at any participating Food City Store, you will receive one automatic entry into the sweepstakes. Electronic entries must be received by 11:59 p.m. (ET) on the Saturday (April 21, May 5, May 19, June 2 and June 16, 2018) prior to each drawing to qualify. Mail-in entries: Hand print in ink on a 3x5 card or Official Food City Sweepstakes Entry Form available at participating Food City Stores (while supplies last) your name, address, daytime and evening phone numbers and mail in an envelope with postage affixed to: Food City $100,000 Treasure Hunt, P.O. Box 1158, Abingdon, VA 24212. Limit one entry per stamped envelope. All entries must be hand written. No mass or mechanically reproduced entries accepted. Mail-in entries must be postmarked on the Saturday (April 21, May 5, May 19, June 2 and June 16, 2018 prior to each drawing and received by the Monday April 23, May 7, May 21, June 4 and June 18, 2018 prior to each drawing to qualify. Improper, incomplete, mutilated, forged, altered and illegible entries will be disqualified. No responsibility is assumed for lost, late, postage due, damaged or misdirected entries or entries not received in time for the random drawings. Sponsors are not responsible for electronic, network or computer/scanner failures or malfunctions, cards scanned incorrectly, or other technical errors of any kind. Entries become the property of K-VA-T Food Stores, Inc. and will not be returned.
HOW IT WORKS: All entries will be assigned to a participating store. Electronic entries will be assigned to the store in which the purchase was made. Mail-in entries will be assigned to the nearest Food City location based upon zip code, unless otherwise specified. On or about April 24, May 8, May 22, June 5 and June 19, 2018 separate random drawings will be conducted and seventy-five (75) potential winners will be selected in each of the separate random drawings.
“Prize Team” Visits: A “Prize Team” consisting of Food City representatives and video crew members will visit potential winner’s homes during the weekend following each random drawing. The Prize Team may limit the duration of their visit to each potential winner's home, but in no event will the limitation be less than ten (10) minutes. Potential winners will not be notified ahead of time. If the potential winner is not present at the time of the home visit, anyone living in the household at least 18 years of age may compete for the prize monies. If no one at least 18 years of age is present at the time of the Prize Team visit, the potential winner will be disqualified. If the potential winner no longer resides at the provided address, the current occupants will be given an opportunity to compete for the prize monies, providing someone at least 18 years of age is present during the prize team visit. The Prize Team will be looking for a Food City, Food Club, Pet Club/Paws/Flock’s, Top Crest, Top Care, Valu Time, Tippy Toes, @ease, Harvest Club, Nostimo, Terry’s, Kern’s, Kay’s, Lay’s, Moore’s, Misty Mountain, Buckley Farms, Sweet P’s, Over the Top, Full Circle, Simply Done, Culinary Tours, Wide Awake, B-Leve, Pure Harmony, Evolve, Cow Belle, Bistro Deli Classics, Domestix, Academix, Electrix, Aura and CharKing, brand products (“Winning Products”) located within the winner’s residence at the time of the home visit, and will give each winner $100 for each Winning Product found at the winning address during the prize team visit and $200 for presenting winners’ Food City ValuCard or keytag. Credit will be given for empty packages, however the winner must show the empty containers to the Prize Team. Winners need not actually purchase Winning Products – the Prize Team will give winners $100 for each separate 3x5 card “Eligible Product Card” bearing the hand-written name of a Winning Product within winner’s home at the time of the home visit. All 3x5 cards must be an original hand-written card – no mass or mechanically produced cards will be accepted. Credit for the number of Winning Products found in the home will be based upon the selling unit (i.e. multi-pack products purchased in one selling unit will count as one Winning Product). Credit will not be given for products that do not have a manufacturer label identifying them as a Food City, Food Club, Pet Club/Paws/Flock’s, Top Crest, Top Care, Valu Time, Tippy Toes, @ease, Harvest Club, Nostimo, Terry’s, Kern’s, Kay’s, Lay’s, Moore’s, Misty Mountain, Buckley Farms, Sweet P’s, Over the Top, Full Circle, Simply Done, Culinary Tours, Wide Awake, B-Leve, Pure Harmony, Evolve, Cow Belle, Bistro Deli Classics, Domestix, Academix, Electrix, Aura and CharKing product. Each winner will receive only one $200 ValuCard credit, regardless of the number of cards/keytags shown. No mass reproduced images of Winning Products will be accepted. Potential winners’ addresses must be a true street address. If a potential winner’s address is false, nonexistent, or a P.O. Box, the potential winner will be disqualified and no prize will be awarded. Winners having “No Trespassing” or “Beware of Dog” signs posted will be disqualified and no prize will be awarded. If the potential winner or persons present at least 18 years of age (in the potential winner’s absence), fail or refuse to show the Prize Team any Winning Products or Eligible Product Cards at the time of the home visit by the Prize Team, the potential winner will be disqualified. Sponsor reserves the right to disqualify a potential winner if the potential winner’s address cannot be located with reasonable effort. If the entire $100,000 is not exhausted between the winners, additional alternate potential winners will be selected and visited.
PRIZES AND APPROXIMATE RETAIL VALUES: Throughout the contest period, a total of at least fifteen winners will be given an opportunity to contend for cash prizes. Winners are limited to an individual maximum of $10,000. Odds of being selected as a potential winner depend on the total number of eligible entries received. Decisions of the sponsors, acting as judges, are final on all sweepstake matters. Limit one prize per person/family/household. All non-winning entries are eligible for subsequent drawings.
ELIGIBILITY: To be eligible to participate, you must be a legal resident of Tennessee, Virginia, Kentucky, Georgia, Alabama or West Virginia,18 years or older at the time of entry. The address given on your Food City ValuCard application must be a street address (not a post office box). Employees of K-VA-T Food Stores, Inc., (“Sponsor”) and its subsidiaries, and affiliates; employees of advertising, promotion and public relations agencies involved in any way with this contest; and immediate family members living within the same household of any of the aforementioned parties, are not eligible to enter and, therefore, not eligible to win.
All federal, state and local taxes, are the sole responsibility of the winners. Void where prohibited by law. All federal, state and local laws/regulations apply. Winners will be required to sign an affidavit of eligibility/liability and publicity release form (as permitted by law) upon being visited (at their home) by the Prize Team. Noncompliance will result in disqualification and an alternate winner will be selected. Acceptance of prize constitutes permission for the Sponsors and their agencies to use winners’ name/likeness for advertising and trade purposes without further compensation, unless prohibited by law. By participating in this promotion, entrants agree to be bound by these official rules and the decisions of the judges, which shall be final and binding in all respects. Winners agree to release and forever discharge K-VA-T Food Stores, Inc., its affiliates and subsidiaries, and their employees, directors, officers, affiliates, subsidiaries, and/or advertising/public relations agencies from any and all claims, demands, losses and liabilities, of any nature whatsoever, which they may now or hereafter assert, including but not limited to, claims for injury, death, damages, or illness arising out of or claimed to be arising out of sweepstakes entry, prize acceptance, use of the aforesaid prize, or visits of Prize Team in the winners’ home. Sponsors are not responsible for incorrect Food City ValuCard data or for technical malfunction of computer hardware or software or for technical failure of any kind, including error in entry submission, whether human, mechanical or electronic.
