Feeding Southwest Virginia and Food City Partner to Connect Families with Food Resources
Abingdon, VA. - Monday, Jul 28, 2025.

Feeding Southwest Virginia is proud to announce its continued partnership with Food City in support of the Mobile Marketplace Program offered by the Food Bank. Thanks to the partnership with Food City, Feeding Southwest Virginia has been able to provide greater access to fresh, convenient, and affordable food to families in rural, Southwest Virginia.

Feeding Southwest Virginia’s Mobile Marketplace (MMP) provides fresh food and shelf-stable grocery items for sale to remote communities throughout the Food Bank’s 26 counties, nine -cities service region of Southwest Virginia. With the Abingdon MMP, much of the food is from Food City. Groceries are available for purchase with credit/debit or SNAP. Additionally, those using SNAP can receive 50% off the cost of fresh produce, thanks to a partnership with Virginia Fresh Match.

The Mobile Marketplace program is based on community. Volunteers, neighbors and committed partners like Food City, make this program possible. We are grateful for the partnership of Food City in the effort to provide greater access to groceries for those living in rural communities in Southwest Virginia.
