Varney Volunteer reognition program seeks to shine a light on all of the good works our associates do. The recognition program was named after former Food City president and board vice-chairman Claude P. Varney who was well-known for his tremendous compassion and humanitarian services.

Hunger is a serious problem throughout the region. Food City and Kellogg's are partnering with our customers to raise funds for local non-profit hunger relief organizations. All proceeds will benefit hunger relief and charitable organizations in our region.

Race Against Hunger

Since 1992, Food City has held its annual Race Against Hunger holiday campaign, co-sponsored by Kellogg’s, which benefits local hunger relief organizations. The Food City Race Against Hunger campaign makes it easy to help our fellow Americans in need. All proceeds benefit local non-profit hunger relief organizations throughout Southwest Virginia, Eastern Kentucky and East Tennessee.
