Feeding Southwest Virginia, UnitedHealthcare, and Food City Nourish Neighbors in Need
Wise County, VA. - Tuesday, Dec 2, 2025.

Feeding Southwest Virginia, UnitedHealthcare, Food City, and Meals with a Mission will hold a holiday food distribution event on December 3rd at 8 E11th Street N in Big Stone Gap. Shelf-stable food boxes will be available, while supplies last, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. In addition, the Food Bank will offer Food City gift cards to the first 25 families (1 per household) to arrive on-site.


Feeding Southwest Virginia, a Food Bank that serves 12,400 square miles of Southwest Virginia, sees an increased need each year as the holiday season approaches. In Wise County, 6,440 neighbors, including 1,590 children, face hunger.


Many neighbors are expressing concern about food sources and continued support throughout the holidays this year. Thanks to UnitedHealthcare, we can address these concerns and provide additional food resources to Wise County neighbors.
