A significant remodel is currently underway at the Food City on Highway 321 in Gatlinburg, TN. The project is scheduled to wrap up early this spring.
“We are excited to have the opportunity to make some significant upgrades to our Gatlinburg Food City to better serve our loyal customers,” says Steven C. Smith, Food City president and chief executive officer. “The project is scheduled to wrap up this spring and our team is working hard to ensure the least amount of interruption to our customers.”
The project includes the addition of several amenities, including a new cake decorating area, new dairy, bakery/deli, and service meat cases, new kitchen equipment, café seating, walk-in coolers, and upgrades to the store receiving area. The restrooms are being remodeled, along with the bakery/deli prep room. The slope beside the store is undergoing remediation and the building exterior is slated for a makeover, along with the installation of new road front signage. Several new energy saving concepts are also being incorporated, including 100% LED lighting throughout the store and new Tesla electric charging stations are being added, along with additional parking spaces.
The location will also be introducing an exciting new pharmacy prescription pick-up service, which will be maintained by the Pigeon Forge Food City Pharmacy. Daily prescription deliveries will be made by a certified pharmacy technician to the secured, HIPPA compliant kiosk. Patient counseling will also be provided.
“I would like to thank our customers for their understanding and patience during the remodel process,” says long-time store manager, Junior Watson. “I think they will agree that it will be well worth the wait.”
