New Food City Coming to Radford, VA

Company officials recently announced plans to construct a new Food City in Radford, VA.  The 49,700+ square foot supermarket will be located on Tyler Avenue and is expected to be completed by this Fall.   

“We are extremely excited to be joining the Radford retail community.  We look forward to constructing a state-of-the-art supermarket that will create both jobs and tax revenue for the citizens of Radford and Montgomery County,” said Steven C. Smith, Food City president and chief executive officer.

The location will include an in-store bakery/deli, complete with a hot food bar, stone pizza oven and café seating area.  A deluxe fresh food bar will also be available, featuring a wide variety of soup, wings, salad and fruit selections.  Full service meat and seafood departments will offer pre-marinated and seasoned oven ready products, plus a complete selection of top quality meats that are all-natural with no solutions added, including Certified Angus Beef and fresh Sushi.  In-house meat cutters will hand cut steaks and fresh meat to order.  Expanded grocery, frozen food and produce departments will offer a complete selection of gourmet, international, organics and specialty items.  Rapid checkout service will be provided by seven traditional check-out lanes and four self-check-outs. 

For added convenience, the location will include a Starbucks café, offering a wide assortment of blended hot and cold coffees and beverages and GoCart curbside pick-up.  With Food City GoCart, customers can shop on-line at foodcity.com and pick-up their order when they arrive at the store.  A Food City Pharmacy will also be included, equipped with a drive-thru for greater ease in prescription services, as well as a Food City Gas N’ Go, featuring a large five pump station with diesel.  And, with the Food City Fuel Bucks, saving money is easier than ever.  Earn 1 Fuel Buck for every dollar spent, plus receive bonus Fuel Bucks on qualifying prescriptions and participating gift cards. For every 150 Fuel Bucks redeemed, save 15¢ per gallon at Food City Gas ’N Go.  In addition, every Wednesday, Food City Gas ‘N Go customers can also redeem 300 Fuel Bucks to receive 30¢ off per gallon of any grade fuel up to 20 gallons.
