
Dan Glei Named Food City Vice President of Center Store

Food City officials recently named Dan Glei as the company’s new Vice President of Center Store. Glei, formerly of Carlisle PA brings more than 25 years of industry experience to the Food City team.
“Dan has worked in grocery and consumer package goods industry for a number of years, specializing, merchandising, private brands and most recently ecommerce,” says Steven C. Smith, Food City president and chief executive officer. “I am confident that he will prove to be a valuable asset to our company and that his service in this key position will enable us to continue to advance and improve upon our center store operations.”
Prior to joining the Food City team, Glei served in a number of capacities for Ahold USA/Giant Food Stores, including senior vice president merchandising, senior vice president brand & format development and senior vice president ecommerce.
His new responsibilities with Food City will include the oversight of all center store operations, supervision of the category management staff, space management team, grocery supervisors and coordination of the Consumer Product Goods partners.

Glei holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Marketing from Michigan State University. He plans to relocate to the Abingdon area with his wife, Leigh and daughter Sarah.
