It’s completely free. There is no charge to download or use the app. You’ll pay the same co-pay for your medications as you normally do at pickup – the app just makes the process easier. No hidden fees, no subscriptions.
The app is designed for Food City Pharmacy customers. It will work if you fill prescriptions at any Food City Pharmacy location. If you’re not yet a Food City customer, you’d need to transfer a prescription to us to use the app’s services. The app even has an option to transfer prescriptions from another pharmacy – we’ll handle the process for you. This way, you can take advantage of our app’s benefits if you switch to a Food City Pharmacy in your community.

It’s easy to get started. The Food City Pharmacy App is available for both iOS and Android. You can find it on the Apple App Store for iPhones (iOS 13 or later) and on Google Play for Android phones (Android 8.0 or later). Just search “Food City Pharmacy” or click the download buttons on this page.
Yes, the app supports family accounts. You can add adult family members with permission, or dependents, to your profile. This means a parent or caregiver can handle refills for a child, spouse, or elderly parent easily. Each person’s prescriptions are organized under their name, but you can access all of them with one login for seamless management.
Yes, this is the new and improved version of our app. The old app has been retired and is no longer working. To ensure you continue to have service and to access all the new features, please download the new Food City Pharmacy App from the App Store or Google Play. Install it, create a Food City® Pharmacy account, and you’re good to go. The new app has a updated design and added capabilities like family accounts and better notifications, so we’re excited for you to try it.
Once you have downloaded and set-up your new app make sure to delete the old Food City pharmacy app.
For certain medications that are controlled or have special handling, some features might be limited by law. The app will let you know if a prescription can’t be refilled through the app and guide you on what to do (e.g., you might need to present ID in person for certain pickups). Rest assured, the app still keeps you informed on these prescriptions – you’ll see them in your list and get reminders – but the final pickup might require standard in-pharmacy procedures.
