Food City Family Race Night Returns to Knoxville
Abingdon, VA. - Wednesday, Apr 4, 2018.

Food City Family Race Night is one of the premier pre-race events on the NASCAR circuit.  The popular fan-based event will return to the Knoxville Expo Center on Thursday, April 12th. 

 

Fans can expect an exciting line-up of Xfinity and Monster Energy Series drivers, interactive sessions, show cars, simulators, souvenir trailers and entertainment, combined with an impressive display of more than 50 antique tractors and a massive offering of free food samples (while supplies last).  Festivities will get underway at 4 p.m. and continue until 8 p.m. 

 

$5.00 advance tickets are currently on sale at area Food City locations.  Tickets will also be available for $6.00 the day of the event.  Children 12 and under are admitted free of charge.  Proceeds benefit the East Tennessee Children’s Hospital.  To date, Food City Family Race Night has contributed more than $565,000 to area non-profit organizations throughout our region.

Special appearances will also be made by Hannah Everhart, Miss Food City 2018, WWE Superstar Kane – Glenn Jacobs, actors from the Walking Dead series - Josh Turner, Kaylie Turner and Thomas Doutt and Lawson Bates from the hit show Bringing Up Bates and Kayla Earnhardt, two-time All-Around Cowgirls Champion.

 

Live entertainment begins at 4:30 p.m. and features a number of talented artists, including Ready for Rain from 4:30 until 5:30 p.m. and Brian Sneed and The Steal Hearts from 6:30 until 7:30 p.m. 

 

Welcome ceremonies will take place at 5:30 p.m., featuring ESPN Analyst, Dr. Jerry Punch and WATE 6 On Your Side Sports Director, Marshall Hughes as Masters of Ceremony.  Several special announcements and presentations will be also made, including Food City Family Race Night Honoree, Aric Almirola.

Food City will also host a Family Race Night event at Bristol Motor Speedway on Friday, April 13th from 4 p.m. until 9 p.m.
