On average, Americans gain approximately one to two pounds during the holiday season. While this isn’t dramatic, research shows it tends to stick and accumulate over the years. With everyone showcasing rich and decadent recipes this time of year, trying to maintain a healthy eating pattern can seem impossible.  Do not distress! Instead, join us on Thursday, December 1 at 6pm, for a Healthy Holiday cooking class at The Depot at Food City on N State of Franklin Road in Johnson City. Food City Registered Dietitian, Elizabeth Hall will present a few strategies to avoid holiday weight gain while still enjoying friends, family and the holiday feast! A cooking demonstration with samples will follow.
